SINCE 1956
FAMILY BUSINESS TERVOLAN SAHA JA HÖYLÄÄMÖ OY
Our company is a woodworking company in Hastinkanaka, Tervola, Finland, founded in 1956 by Mauno Vuokila. To this day the company is still owned by the same family.
Family entrepreneurship is very much part of our everyday business life. Similar values and a common goal is one of the cornerstones of our work. Our operations are reliable, sustainable and innovative. In 2023 we completed the largest investment in our history, which included completely new equipment; a sawmill, sawmill infeed, peeling mill, a 30-bin fresh sorting and rimming plant and a production control system. The equipment was installed in a new hall of more than 3000 m2. This has allowed us to increase the sawing volume.
The investment will also enable us to make even more efficient use of every piece of wood. Piece by piece, we are investing throughout the sawmill and modernising our equipment, which will allow us to grow and develop.
In addition to the entrepreneurial couple, our company employs their children and sons-in-law, as well as other good people. The company employs around 25 people.
Our subsidiary Vk Timber Oy in Kittilä employs about 6 people.
