On Friday 11 September 2026, we will be celebrating our companies’ anniversaries and generational transitions with an open day from 2 pm to 5 pm. The programme includes an introduction to our operations, guided tours of the sawmill, the chance to try out a forestry machine simulator, and music by Elias Niemelä on the organ and Stefan Stanciu on the pan flute.

“Tervolan Saha ja Höyläämö Oy is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, whilst Metsä Kokkonen Oy is marking its 20th. In addition to these milestones, our companies have undergone generational transitions, as a result of which ownership has passed from Lea and Juha Kokkonen to the next generations within the family.’
Juho-Heikki, Samuli, Henri and Mikael Kokkonen, as well as Saara-Kaisa Parkkinen and Elina Alamäki, will continue as the new owners of the Tervolan Saha ja Höyläämö Oy group. Hannu-Pekka Kokkonen will continue as the new owner of Metsä Kokkonen Oy. The former owners, Lea and Juha, will remain involved in the companies’ operations for a while longer, sharing their decades of experience and expertise.’’
